1. The Holy Scriptures
We believe in the infallible and inerrant word of God. It was written by holy men of God under
the immediate and direct dictation of the Holy Spirit. We hold the King James Bible as the all
sufficient rule of faith and practice. Psalm 12:6-7; 119:160, 2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 3:16-17
2. One God
We believe in the personal triune God: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit equal
in divine perfection. Matthew 28:19, Romans 1:20, 1 John 5:7
3. Creation
We believe in the Genesis account of creation. Genesis 1 & 2
4. Satan
We believe Satan is the archenemy of God and man, the unholy god of this world, and his destiny
is the eternal lake of fire. 2 Corinthians 4:4, Ephesians 6:10-17, Revelation 20:10
5. Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ; that Jesus is the Son of God. John 10:30; 1:1,14, Matthew 16:16
6. The Virgin Birth
We believe in the virgin birth and the sinless humanity of Jesus Christ. Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-25
1 Peter 2:22
7. The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit, as Comforter, is the divine administrator for Jesus Christ only in His
New Testament Churches. Luke 24:49, John 14:16-17; 16:13, Acts 1:4-8
8. The Fall of Man
We believe man was created in the image of God and lived in innocence until he fell by voluntary
transgression from his sinless state and the result being that all mankind are now sinners.
Genesis 1:26; 3:1-24, Romans 3:24; 5:12,19
9. Justification and the Atonement for Sin
We believe that because of man's sin, before God it was necessary for a blood atonement to be made.
Thus God's Son came to offer himself freely for the sinner's justification. The suffering and death
of Jesus Christ was substitutionary and sufficient for all mankind. Isaiah 53:6, Hebrews 2:9; 9:22,
1 Peter 2:24, 1 John 2:2
10. The Second Coming of Jesus Christ
We believe in the premillenial, personal bodily return of Jesus Christ as the crowning event of the
Gentile Age. This event will include the resurrection of the righteous and the marriage of Christ to
His glorious Bride, the Church. The millennium will be followed by the resurrection of the unrighteous
into eternal punishment in the lake of fire. John 14:1-6, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 19:1-21;
20:4-15; 21:8
11. Salvation and a New Birth
We believe the depraved sinner is saved wholly by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and the
requisites to regeneration are repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
John 3:16-18, Acts 20:21, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9. The Holy Spirit of God convicts, regenerates,
seals, secures, and indwells every believer. John 3:6; 16:8-9, Romans 8:9-11, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20,
Ephesians 4:30, Titus 3:5
12. Security of the Believer
We believe salvation wrought by God is everlasting. The saved are securely in God's hand and nothing can
separate us from Him who saved us. John 3:36; 10:28-30, Romans 8:35-39
13. Christian Obedience
We believe God deals with believers as His children and He chastises the disobedient and He rewards the
obedient. Matthew 16:27, Hebrews 12:5-11, 2 Timothy 2:5, 2 John 8
14. The Church
We believe Jesus Christ established His church on the sea shores of Galilee during His ministry on earth
and it is always a local, visible assembly of scripturally baptized believers in covenant relationship to
carry out the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ. This church is an independent, self-governing
body whereby no other ecclesiastical body may exercise authority over her. As the body of Christ we only
fellowship with churches of like faith and order. We believe Jesus Christ gave the Great Commission only
to the New Testament churches and He promised the perpetuity of His churches. Matthew 4:18-22; 16:18;
28:19-20, Mark 1:14-20, John 1:35-50, Ephesians 3:21
15. Baptism and the Lord's Supper
We believe there are two pictorial ordinances in the Lord's New Testament churches: Baptism and the Lord's
Supper. Scriptural baptism is the immersion of penitent believers in water and is administered by the
authority of a New Testament church in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Lord's Supper is
a memorial ordinance. The elements of which are to be the unfermented fruit of the vine and unleavened
bread which pictures Jesus' shed blood and broken body. Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 8:12,35-38, Romans 6:3-6,
1 Corinthians 11:1-2,17-29. It is the duty of a God called ordained man to administer the ordinances of
the church as God's word presents.
16. Church Offices
We believe there are two divinely appointed offices in a church, pastors and deacons, to be filled by men
whose qualifications are set forth in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus.
17. Church Fellowship
We believe all fellowships and committees are servants of and properly under the control of local churches.
Matthew 20:25-28
18. Civil Government
We believe in freedom of worship without interference from the government and affirm our belief in civil
obedience unless the laws and regulations of civil government run contrary to the Holy Scriptures.
Romans 13:1-7, 1 Peter 2:13-17
Our Church Covenant
Having been led, as we believe by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour and,
on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into
covenant with one another as one body in Christ.
We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for
the advancement of this church in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and
spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, disciplines, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully
and regularly to the support of its ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the
spread of the gospel throughout all nations.
We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the
salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings,
faithful in our engagement, and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and
excessive anger; to abstain from the sale of, and use of, intoxicating drinks as a beverage; to be
zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Saviour.
We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid
one another in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and Christian courtesy
in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our
Saviour to secure it without delay.
We moreover engage that when we remove from this place we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other
church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word.
